Central Wimberley Wastewater Project Workshop

6 p.m. Monday, June 17, 2019
Wimberley Community Center

Where does the City of Wimberley wastewater system stand now, and what will happen next?

The long-needed wastewater collection system for Wimberley’s downtown sewer needs is mostly complete. But there is still no place for the water to go. The City must decide whether to complete a City-managed wastewater treatment plant or to contract with Aqua Texas to take the waste.

The situation is very complex, as anyone following the issue knows.

The City hosts a public meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, June 17 at the Wimberley Community Center, 14068 Ranch Rd 12. The meeting was called for by City Council, but will be run by City Administrator Sean Cox (not by City Council).

Unfortunately, partly because of the time factor, there has been little public notice of the meeting. Here is a listing posted by Councilmember Rebecca Minnick:

· 6 pm THIS COMING MONDAY, June 17 - Central Wimberley Wastewater Project Public (Workshop) at Wimberley Community Center, featuring financial and timeline presentations from City Administrator and City Engineer (Contracted). This will be an opportunity for ALL citizens to ask their questions and receive answers. If for any reason, answers aren't available Monday evening, we will get them answered and communicate them individually, via the city web pages and our council Facebook pages. See you there!

Everyone welcome and welcome to speak!
