TCEQ Public Meeting On Draft Permit for
Wimberley Water Reclamation Plant

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) is holding a public meeting on the Draft Permit for the Wimberley Water Reclamation Plant Proposal on Thursday, March 12, 2015, at 7 p.m. in the Wimberley Community Center. This is the next step in Wimberley’s sewer project that addresses the longstanding problem of failing septic systems in the downtown area that allow raw sewage to seep into Cypress Creek.

Because public interest in this proposal has been so high, this meeting is an opportunity for local citizens to submit comments or ask questions about the application. The public meeting will have an Informal Discussion Period and a Formal Comment Period. During the Informal Discussion Period, you will be able to ask questions of the Wimberley officials or staff and TCEQ staff about the application and the Executive Director's preliminary decision. During the Formal Comment Period, you can give a formal comment that becomes part of the official record.

Comments made during the Informal Period are not considered by the Commissioners before reaching a decision on the permit, and no formal response will be made. The TCEQ Executive Director will provide a written response to all formal comments deemed “timely, relevant and material, or significant,” and will be considered by the Commissioners before they reach
